Dog stores around the country will warn pet owners that this time can be really stressful for dogs. This is especially true if you are hosting a Thanksgiving dinner with a lot of guests. Read on to learn how to ensure your pup’s safety. ### **Food Safety** The biggest hazard to puppies during Thanksgiving time is food poisoning. During the holidays, dog food poisoning incidents increase drastically and jump through the roof. Sharing your Thanksgiving dinner with your pooch can seem like a nice way to show appreciation, but it is likely to cause harm to your puppy’s health. Instead visit dog stores like Petland to purchase dog treats that are Thanksgiving Day friendly and healthy for your puppy. By sticking to dog treats you will also find that your puppy training efforts won’t be reversed. ### **Educate Your Guests** You should point out to your guests that they shouldn’t give your dog any Thanksgiving food. Guests can engage with your puppy by offering him treats and toys throughout dinner. Dogs tend to become stressed if they are locked away when new guests and new smells are present. By offering treats and toys during dinner your puppy will feel entertained and important. Enjoying this read? You'll love our puppies. The first thing you have to do is to make sure that your dog has a collar with an ID tag.
